1998 Season Point Champion - Jesse Robertson
Jesse Robertson won his fifth race of the 1998 Budweiser Championship Series with a great move to pass his father, Lee, in the last turn of the final heat. As they both approached lapped traffic, Lee got held back and to the outside by a slow boat while Jesse's '89 Circus Circus cut to the inside of a dead boat and took the lead.
 
Jesse had wrapped up the season point Championship several race earlier, but took great satisfaction in yet another race win.
