- The Pride of Pay N Pak died on the launch, the Squire
Shop died in the mill, and The American Spirit died while making
a crawl to avoid jumping the start. This left just 4 boats to
finish the heat. Shortly after the start, the PICO American Dream
apparently hit something floating below the surface of the water,
kicking its rudder up, causing lost rudder control in turns 3-4,
and proptly headed into the beach. Luckily there were plenty
of bushes to ease the impact. Shortly thereafter, The Atlas Van
Lines rolled in turns 1-2 due to large swells in the area, leaving
only the Circus Circus, and the Vernors to finish the race.
- The American Spirit makes a tight pass against
the Lite AllStar, just before the finish line.
