Lee had one of his worst race days. His piston shattered, and he was only able to finish one heat all day. A sharp contrast to his usual near perfect days.
 
Dave Brandt also ran into some bad luck. ...Well, it wasn't exactly "luck", it was actually a tree along the bank that he ran into during testing on Saturday. As you can notice in the photo above, Dave had to do some extensive 'Snell-esk' repairs to his front left sponson. He patched up the front of the sponson with red duct tape. Amazingly the boat still ran after loosing 1/4 of the sponson, and actually made it all the way to claim Second Place in the Final. This just goes to show you, even the bleakest situations can be turned around if you stick with it.
