Don Kaeding's Ride...

R/C Unlimiteds long time member, Don Kaeding, got the ride of a lifetime in the Miss Madison October 5th, 2002 on Lake Chelan. During R/CU's Gold Cup, held in the town of Chelan on the lagoon, the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum held their annual crew day on the lake....

...Don was invited to go for a ride with driver Gale Whitestine in the Allison powered craft. The boat ran at speeds over 120 mph. Don first comment when he returned from the thrilling ride is "you can't wave at the crowd at over 100 mph" as he nearly had his arm yanked off in the wind....

...The hull, which was the former Savar's Mist, was restored by the museum for the Hollywood film "Madison" which is due for release in early 2003.
