2004 Awards Banquet

This year's banquet was graciously held by Nelson Holmberg at the DoubleTree Hotel Jantzen Beach, OR. It was a great success. Thank you Nelson, everyone appreciated the work that had been put into it.

Our guest of honor this year was Hydroplane Legend - Chip Hanauer
After viewing movies of Chip driving the '82 Atlas and '99 Miss PICO, he shared some stories of how he got got into racing Unlimiteds. Chip also delighted those attending with stories of some of his most memorable race wins and descriptions of different boats he drove.

Our thanks goes out to Don Mock for MC'ing this event.

1882 Atlas Van Lines Restoration
Marc Connelly gave a stirring testimonial about being on the 1982 Atlas Van Lines restoration crew.  It's not just about putting a boat together, but rather the camaraderie and great people you get the opportunity to get to know.

'Winner' of the Brian Lepinski Trash Trophy
Nelson Holmberg

The 'Trash' award is made up of parts from boats in the past that have been 'trashed' due to crashes. Each year a 'winner' is selected due to what has happened during that season. The 'winner' will add a piece of their boat to the perpetual trophy that helped them 'win' this not-so-coveted award.

Dave Brandt was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year for his accomplishment of attaining three High Points Season Championships. Congratulations Dave!
