After the 1967 championship year, the U-1 designation along with a new paint scheme was put on Ole Bardahl's Karelson hull. The "Blonde Bombshell" became the "Checkerboard Comet" and took both the championship and Gold Cup for a second year in a row. |

Scale Bio:
This is the first boat I've ever built. It took longer than expected but the excitement and anticipation never waned. Thanks to RC Sportscraft, Lee Babcock, Jimmy Foreman and to all the members of RCU who never ran short of expert advice, thank you as well. I'm also grateful for a patient wife for understanding my passion for the sport. |
