The Miss Bayswater Bulk was an Australian boat that competed only once in the U.S. in the 1983 World Finals held in Houston, TX. Mechanical difficulties kept the boat from qualifying for the final heat, but in the consolation final Miss Bayswater won convincingly, nearly lapping the entire field. The consolation race can be seen here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6FsnCZ2IKI&NR=1 |

It is unknown when the basic framework for the hull was first built, though it appeared to be intended as an Atlas Van Lines, and rumor has it the hull had been based upon a DeSteese design. Craig Bonar was in possession of the hull for many years before I purchased it in 2007. It sat unattended for a few more years before I finally modified and completed the boat in early 2011. |
