Unlimited:
Built in 1982, owned by Fred Leland and Driven by Mitch Evans and sponsored by Art Oberto. Jack Barry once said it was like playing a guitar. The hull is made of aluminum and flexes every time the skid fin or rudder unload. The hull was on loan to Executone after the U-95 hull sank at SeaFair that same year. This is a Karelson hull.
Scale:
This boat was built as the Coors Light in 1987. The radio has been updated to PCM with new high-torque servos on the rudder. The boat was painted with Deltron as the Coors Light and simply updated to the revised Miss Rock paint job. It has been sitting around for the last 15 years collecting dust until this season. It was powered by K&B .67 engines with a straight shaft from the beginning. Updated to CMB and a flex for the current running status. Weight before the this paint job was 13.5 lbs. The cowling was created and custom molded for use on the 8255 Executone that ran before this hull and is still in use by Troy today. The wings were also custom molded for this hull as the Coors and are still in use by Troy also. |
