the camera.
On November first, several
of our R/C Unlimiteds members; Gary Jensen, Don Mock, David Jensen
and Harry Gatjens, traveled to Lake Castaic in Southern California
to film the crash scenes for the Madison move. The group built
four special 1/6th scale unlimiteds which served as replicas
of the ones in the movie. The mission was to crash them for the
film. Looking back on that day, Harry has built a web page that
shows some of what went on. Click
here for the full story.

To who may concern,
My name is Brad Pate I would
like for someone to put in your news letter a big thank you to
Roger Newton for all the hospitality he showed me at the Evansville,
In and Madison race for the unlimiteds. I really believe you
all really must run a flawless club out there. He has been very
helpful on helping me find the people to trust on getting started
in a scale boat.
Also please thank Troy McIntire for is help also.
Thanks Brad!
We appreciate your comments, and are happy that we could be of
service.
*4/11/2000 The first R/C Unlimiteds race results

*1/2/2000 R/C Unlimited member,
Paul Droullard, also of the Unlimited Light circuit, will be
getting a new Unlimited Light hydroplane from Ron Jones Jr's
shop, and hope to launch the boat in Tri-Cities this coming summer.
Paul began racing limited
hydroplanes after several years of racing 1/8th scale boats.
He was Seattle Inboards Racing Ass. Rookie of the year in 1992,
and was the highest scoring Rookie of the first year of the unlimited
lights in 1994. In 1995 he was named as the KISW Miss Rock back
up drive for Mark Evans, although he never had the opportunity
to drive, he has been affiliated with Leland Unlimiteds for over
5 years. Paul has had the opportunity to race every class of
APBA hydroplane except an Unlimited. He is currently building
a new Unlimited Light for the 2000 season at Ron Jones Jr.'s
new shop. "We hope to launch the boat in Tri-Cities this
coming summer".
