- R/C Unlimiteds extends it's prayers to friends and family of Roger Newton.
- R/C Unlimiteds is sad to report that its founding member, Roger Newton, passed away on the morning August 9th, 2008, after complications from a heart attack.

- Roger founded R/C Unlimiteds in 1974. As well as being the crew chief for different Unlimited Hydroplanes during his career, Roger had contributed scale hydroplane plans for many a radio controlled boater in his lifetime. In fact, you might say that if it wasn't for Roger Newton, R/C Scale Hydroplane racing might not even be in existance today.

- Roger was a great kind of guy who would always make you feel welcome at a race either by telling a joke or eagerly engaging you in conversation. You were a great friend Roger. Thank you for being such a great guy!
Roger will sorely be missed. We wish Roger happy boating in the afterlife.
